Horses need three types of omega-3 fatty acids: DHA, EPA and ALA. Green grass, linseeds and linseed oil only provide the ALA form. Horses convert ALA to DHA very inefficiently (less than 10%) and a negligible amount is converted to EPA. That is why we see such drastically good results from very small amounts of algal and marine derived Omega-3 sources that are rich in DHA and EPA.

Does your joint supplement contain hyaluronic acid and omega-3s? These ingredients are highly valued in joint supplements for their chondoprotective, preventative and anti-inflammatory action. They can be used in conjunction with traditional ingredients like glucosamine, MSM and vitamin C to provide broad-acting joint care.
